Went to see the Dub Pistols at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth. The perfect venue for one of my favourite bands. As usual Barry Ashworth and his crew put on the best show and had the good size crowd bouncing right from the start. It was a a long romp through all the old favourites but that is what everyone wanted. Everyone in a good mood everyone happy - everyone a Mucky Weekender. If you’ve never been to see the Dub Pistols live do check them out. They tour a lot and their live sets are as LIVE as it gets. A proper band playing real instruments with hard beats and hard edged lines and street rhymes over the top. While everyone goes crazy. Every band needs a trombone. Every band need to combine tracks from the Specials and the Stranglers with a happy dash of dub reggae and MC toasting. Everyone needs to be a Pistolero!
